Is it necessary to have a car during our stay in Villa Maria Luisa?

The proximity of Forio at only 100 meters allows to reach the village on foot and use the public bus service connecting the various towns of the island through frequent journeys, most of which have their terminus in the town of Ischia Porto, near the port. The fare for a single journey (valid 90 minutes) is € 1.20, with tickets purchased in advance at kiosks, bars, travel agencies, and tobacconist. Tickets can be purchased on board at the highest price of 1.50 €, although it is not recommended due to overcrowding on buses in Ischia (especially during the summer months. All tickets must be validated on the bus. Tickets are regularly checked.

How long does it take to reach Ischia Ischia?

The trip lasts from Mergellina to Forio normally between 45 and 50 minutes. From Beverello to Forio it will take 55/65 minutes. Obviously, in a rough sea the journey time may increase.
